Agnes "Yvonne" Newton Land, age 80, of Dalton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Yvonne was born in Gilmer County on June 15, 1945 to the late Ernest Newton and Lois James Newton.  In her fulfilling life, she and Jr her husband, owned a service station and fruit stand for several years in Ellijay. Yvonne loved the outdoors and was partial to her flowers.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Land Jr., sister, Brenda Newton Gibson and brothers, Jerry Newton and Stevie Newton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her nieces, nephews, and several cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 2:00 in the chapel at Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. John Newton and Rev. Tony Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Buckhorn – Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Leon Watkins, Kenneth Allen Jr., Jimmy Bennett, Grady Ray, Melvin Land, and Larry Dale will serve as Pallbearers. Ronald Hyde will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 21 from 11:00 am until the service hour of 2:00 pm at Bernhardt Funeral Home.
