Mrs. Alice Lee Ashe, age 76, of Ellijay, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2026.

Alice was born on November 1, 1949, in Ellijay, GA to the late Clifford Dunn and Berta Lee Jones Dunn. She worked in the textile industry and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Alice treasured time spent with those she loved and will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the quiet way she cared for others.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ashe is preceded in death by her three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene (Bertie Ann) Dunn, Troy (Jackie) Dunn, and David Dunn.

Mrs. Ashe is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim (Shelly) Defoor of Ellijay, GA and Corey (Dora) Defoor of Cleveland, Tennessee; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Terry) Dunn of Illinois; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret (Benny) Sanford of Ellijay, GA, Darlene (Anthony) Sanford of Chatsworth, GA and Brenda Darby of Ellijay, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services to honor the life of Mrs. Ashe will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Irene Wofford and Rev. Daniel Mason officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Hill, Chad West, Donavon Defoor, Hunter Defoor, Jim Defoor, and Corey Defoor.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 from 12:00 p.m., noon, until 2:30 p.m.

Alice will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bernhardt Funeral Home @ 163 River Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 to help alleviate the family of remaining expenses.
