Mrs. Alice Geneva Grizzle, age 92 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, April 25 ^th , 2023 at her residence.

Alice was born on March 16 ^th , 1931 in Gilmer County to the late Gus Smith and Beulah Weaver Smith. She was a member of the East Ellijay Baptist Church. Alice was the rock of her family. She loved to spend time with them and cook. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grizzle is preceded in death by her son, Ricky Godfrey; 4 brothers, Ervin Smith, Tom Smith, Andrew Smith, and Pat Smith; and sister, Doris Strickland.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Grizzle Sr, sons and daughters-in-law, James (Debbie) Welch and Bobby Jr. (Maria) Grizzle; seven grandchildren, Melissa Cox, James Welch Jr, Megan Welch, Zachary Grizzle, Zoei Grizzle, Drake Godfrey, and Morgan Godfrey, and seven great-grandchildren, Haley, Summer, Alex, Shaylin, Olivia, Madison, and Charlotte.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 28 ^th , 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Davis. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include: Bobby Grizzle, Jamie Welch, Frankie James, Zachary Grizzle, Craig Cox, and Jeff Welch.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 27 ^th , 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family will be accepting flowers; however, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
