HENSLEY

Mrs. Alma Jean Hensley, age 82 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Hensley was born December 13, 1941, in Sylva, NC to the late Daniel Boone Shook and Julia Brown Shook. She retired from Springs Industry after 30 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hensley is preceded in death by her son Danny Hensley, brother, James Shook, and sisters, Helen Galloway, Hazel Dilbeck, Erma Lee Shook, and Velma Stanley.

Survivors include: her husband, Wilford Hensley, of Ellijay, GA; son, Michael (Allie) Hensley, of Canton, GA; daughters, Debbie (Don) Doolin, of Ellijay, GA, and Kathy (Rick) Collins, of Ellijay, GA; daughter-in-law, Dawn Hensley, of Ellijay, GA; sister, Geneva Davis, of Ellijay; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy Hensley, Johnathan Hensley, Harley Weaver, Kell Weaver, Kadie Weaver, Derrick Hamby, Josh Hamby, Amber Hart, Nicholas Smith, Christopher Cherry, Cheyanne Hensley, Wyatt Hensley, Ethan Collins, Chase Collins (Emily) and Amber Collins, and16 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Richards and Eric Ledford officiating. Music will be performed by Becca and Joel Smith. Interment will follow in the Berean Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Thursday, September 19th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
