Mrs. Anna Ruth Jones, age 93 of East Ellijay, passed away on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at Wildwood Health Care Center in Jasper.

Mrs. Jones was born on November 18th, 1928 in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Joseph Barney Payne and Mattie Gaddis Payne. She is preceded in death by her late husband Warren Patterson Jones. Ruth was a graduate of Gilmer High School and was employed by The Dixie Dime Store and Huffs Drug Store. She loved to knit and quilt. Ruth was also a longtime member of the East Ellijay Baptist Church; she always had a smile on her face, she loved her family, the Lord, and her church dearly.

Survivors include; three daughters and sons-in-laws, Linda and Don Crider, Janie and Roger Kincaid, and Claudia and David Townley; son, Christopher Warren Jones; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022 at 3:00 pm from the East Ellijay Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Kelly and Rev. Jess Posey officiating. Rev. Stephen Keener will pray at the cemetery. Interment will follow in the East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be David Hensley, Brent Defoor, Billy Jones, Billy Ayers, Ronnie Prater, and Chuck Prater.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 17th, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Jones.
