Annemaria Baranyi-Atkinson, (Anna), at the age 54, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her residence in Ellijay, Georgia.  She was born on May 11, 1971, in Budapest, Hungary, the daughter of Joseph Baranyi and the late Maria Baranyi (nee. Fovenyi).

Annemaria left Hungary with her family as a one-year-old and lived in Monte Carlo, Monaco, for four years before moving to Germany for nine years, when she and her family moved to Mesa, Arizona.  She graduated with Honors from Mesa High School and completed a BA in English with a minor in German from Arizona State University.  She was fluent in English, Hungarian, German, and French.  She went on to receive a Law Degree from the Rutgers School of Law.  Between getting her Bachelor's and Law Degree, she attended the Sorbonne University in Paris and the Karoli Reformed University in Budapest.

After graduating from Law School, she moved to the Washington, D.C., area to practice law. She met her husband, William Atkinson, with whom she moved to Elijay, Georgia, and had two beautiful boys: Vajk and Attila.

Throughout her life, Annemaria was a wonderful and vibrant example of striving to live like Jesus.  She loved wholeheartedly and forgave graciously.  She was a devoted mother and wife, a phenomenal daughter, sister, and friend who was there for others when they needed her most.  She loved to travel, paint, and sing; she had the most beautiful voice.

Annemaria was an integral part of her father's ministry, beginning when she was a little girl.  Anna did everything from being on stage and singing Hungarian songs when her family was on furlough, to speaking at different churches in the USA, traveling the country, and taking on the role of the secretary to Hungarian Ministries International until her death.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.

She is survived by her two boys, Vajk and Attila Atkinson of Ellijay; her father, Joseph Baranyi of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Esther Haas (nee. Baranyi), married to Paul Haas, as well as her niece Annabel Haas of Scottsdale, AZ, and several family members from her native country of Hungary.

A Celebration of Life for Ms. Baranyi-Atkinson will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the East Ellijay Baptist Church. Anna's pastor, Rev. Chad Kelly, will be officiating.

The family will be accepting flowers, or in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Annemaria Baranyi-Atkinson Revocable Trust in the memory of Annemaria Baranyi-Atkinson.  Donations may be delivered to East Ellijay Baptist Church and directed to the Trust.
