Obituary

Mr. Charles Arthur Weaver, age 79 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Sunday, June 1st, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Weaver was born on October 5th, 1945 in Blue Ridge, GA, the son of the late Marvin Jackson Weaver and the late Eunice Free Weaver. Mr. Weaver earned his bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University and went on to serve as the Director of the Department of Family and Children Services in Gilmer County. A devoted born-again Christian of the Baptist faith, he loved the Lord dearly and lived his life guided by his strong beliefs. Mr. Weaver found great joy in farming and raising cattle, a passion that reflected his deep connection to the land. Above all, he cherished his family, and his love and devotion to his children and grandchildren were unwavering.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Weaver is preceded in death by his loving daughter, Sherri Anne Woodring and brother, Dr. David Randy Weaver, M.D.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Charlotte S. Weaver of Ellijay, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katrina (Tim) Rogers of Ball Ground, GA and Kristin (Christopher) Elliott of Waleska, GA; two brothers and sister-in-law, Hoyt (Barbara) Weaver of Crandall, GA and Jack Weaver of Ellijay, GA; sister, Gale Gilbert of Blairsville, GA; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Weaver of Columbus, GA, sister-in-law, Sharon Kincaid of Ellijay, GA, brother-in-law Troy Southern (Carrie) of Ellijay, GA; five grandchildren, Kenneth Charles Woodring, Chase Rogers, Sara Rogers, Alexa Elliott, and Isabella Elliott, and numerous cousins also survive.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sam Rickett and Rev. Michael Cantrell officiating.

Serving as Pall Bearers; Troy Southern, Greg Woodring, Kenneth Charles Woodring, Chris Elliott, Chase Rogers, Dave Kincaid, Jason Kincaid and Tommy Pankey; Honorary Pall Bearers; Male members of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Tommy Wright, Eddie Brooks, Tommy Smith, Alvin Reece, John Reece, cousins and neighbors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 6th, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The family respectfully asks that no flowers be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Mr. Branson Chastain at 84 River Ridge, Ellijay, GA 30536.
