Ms. Bertha Eunice Fowler Gentry, age 91 of Ellijay, passed away peacefully Friday, November 25th, 2022 at Parkside Nursing Home.

Ms. Gentry was born on February 13th, 1931 in Ellijay to the late Floyd Wilburn Fowler and Decie Garland Fowler. Bertha was born and raised in Gilmer County. She was employed for various periods of time with the hosiery mill and Hampton Mills. Bertha enjoyed visiting with her family, canning, quilting, gardening, and crochet. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Gentry; sisters, Eva Gibson, Geneva Dernus, Beulah Newman Welch, Pauline Cochran; and grandson, Craig Gentry.

Survivors include her children, John H. (Alice Williams) Gentry Jr., Kathy (Joseph) Jones, Timothy (Adela) Gentry, and Kendall Gentry; grandchildren, Ivy Hubler, Justin Jones, Mike Jones, Tim Gentry, and Donald Gentry; great grandchildren, Abby Kay Gentry, Stephanie Puckett, Jacob Jones,Belle Jones, Eli Hubler and Mallory Hubler; also nieces and nephews, Kay Dermakowski, Shiela Gibson, Steve Newman, Brenda Newman Eisenhardt, Judy Buczko, Janet Gloeggler, Bob Dernus, and Gary Dernus also survive.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 26th at 2:00 PM from the East Ellijay Baptist Church cemetery.
