Ms. Betty Louise Carter, age 78 of Ellijay, GA, passed on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Ms. Carter was born May 16, 1947, in Gilmer County to the late Joseph Paul Carter and Rebecca Dunn Carter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Edith Duckett, Johnnie Faye Carter, Shadia Carter Fendley, and Bobby Jean Carter.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Michael George; brother, Bill Carter; sisters, Juanita Slaughter and Wyonette May; 2 grandchildren, Autumn Sanchez and Brooke Curtis; 5 great grandchildren, Dawson Hawkins, Kaidance Allen, Lukas Allen, Mayabella Sanchez, and Ezequiel Sanchez.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 10th, at 4:00 p.m. from Yukon Cemetery, with Rev. Pat Shelton and Billy Joe Carter officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Fendley, Eddie Fendley, Roger Fendley, Jesus Sanchez, Chris Alred, and Jeremy Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
