Mrs. Betty Lou Hamrick, age 72 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Hamrick was born January 16, 1953, in Pickens County to the late F.B. Chastain and Bonnie Goble Chastain. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamrick is preceded in death by her two grandchildren, Ashley Gail Cross and Hailey Shantel Hamrick; her siblings, Cathelene Chastain, Judy Thomas, Marie Nicholson, Emilee Blankenship, and Rosie Burton; and her aunt and uncle, J.E. and Jessie Chastain.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Hamrick; son, Scottie Hamrick; daughters, Crystal Sanders, Tammy McDonald, and Taran Hodge; brother, Eddie Chastain; sisters, Glenda Ridings, Gail Queen, Barbara Melton, Tracy Brown, and Charlene Bunch; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at 3 pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Gary Mathews, Brian Mathews, Travis Mathews, Jacob Mathews, Bryant Mathews, Dawson Ridings, Steven Bynum, and Scottie Hamrick.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20th from 10:00 am until the service hour at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
