Mrs. Betty Lou Carroll Reece, age 77 of Ellijay, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6th, 2026.

Mrs. Reece was born on September 28th, 1948 in Ducktown, Tennessee to the late Dub Carroll and the late Mary Lou Coffey Carroll. She worked at Walmart as a door greeter and was a member of the Harvest Missionary Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reece is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Roy Lee Reece, Sr.

Mrs. Reece is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Larry) Hensley; son and daughter-in-law, Chris Richards and Roy (Misty) Reece, Jr.; four grandchildren, Tasha (Kyle) McClure, Rev. Marlen (Macie) Hensley, CJ (Victoria) Reece, and Lili Reece, and eight great-grandchildren, Trent McClure, Reid McClure, Trey McClure, Walker Hensley, Weston Hensley, Warren Hensley, Easton Reece, and Savannah Simmons.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mrs. Reece will be held on Monday, July 13th, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Arnold officiating. A private interment will be in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation held at the funeral home.
