William "Bill" Adrian Henderson Sr. age 81 of Ellijay, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at his son's home in Hiawassee, Georgia.

Bill was born in Miami, Florida on October 19, 1942 to the late Mr. and Mrs. David and Margaret (Ward) Henderson. He was a deacon at Flat Branch Baptist Church in Ellijay. He was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather.  Bill taught special education at Gilmer County Schools for ten years and then went on to become the assistant superintendent until retirement. During his free time he loved caring for his flowers and plants in his garden. He was a kind, gentle, soft spoken man that many looked up to, often going to him for advice.

Bill is preceded in death by his above mentioned parents and son, William "Billy" Henderson Jr. He leaves behind his wife of over sixty years, Mary Ann Harley Henderson; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pamela Henderson; sister and brother-in-law, Sam and Maraget Broady; brother, David Henderson; grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel and Aaron Henderson; great-grandchildren, Blakely and Easton Henderson; and a great number of extended family and friends. Bill will be deeply missed. Arrangements to be determined at a later date.
