Billie Gray Patrick Holt, age 93 of Ellijay, GA, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her home with her children by her side.  She was born to the late Lawrence and Adelyne Patrick on September 23, 1929.

Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Vernon J. Holt.  She is survived by her children Richard Holt and Rebecca Holt Amerson, grandchildren Gray Holt, Katherine Holt Mawhinney (Zac) and Benjamin Amerson, and great-grandchildren Rory and Colin Mawhinney.

After raising her family, she worked to complete three college degrees and taught high school social studies until her retirement. She coordinated many high school graduation ceremonies and proms. She was always active in her church serving through the years as a Sunday School teacher, choir director, song leader, and church clerk.  She was a proud Daughter of the American Revolution since 1960.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Holt's name may be made to the Flint Hill Cemetery Fund, 145 Oak Leaf Lane, Ellijay, GA 30540.  A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2pm in the Flint Hill Cemetery across from Cartecay Baptist Church.
