Mr. Billy Ray Loudermilk, age 87 of Calhoun, GA, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025.
Mr. Loudermilk was born, the youngest of ten children, to the late William Cannon Loudermilk and the late Velma Holt Loudermilk. He spent most of his early years in Cornelia, GA, before joining the United States Navy. He later moved to Ellijay, GA where he served as the President of First State Bank, later known as Regions Bank. He loved his family, fishing, and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Carolyn Loudermilk; brother, James Loudermilk and Judy Reece; children, Tracy Backer, Steve (Diana) Loudermilk, Barry (Anna) Loudermilk, Mary Loudermilk, Cannon (Victoria) Loudermilk, Eric (Carrie) Allen, and Amy (David) Weaver; grandchildren, Kris Johnson, Jake Loudermilk, Gabrielle Loudermilk, Madison (Marcus) Fisher, Alexis Loudermilk, Julia and Liam Loudermilk, Isabella Weaver, Bradley Weaver, and Eliana Hosford; sisters-in-laws and husband, Mamie Jo Loudermilk, and Brenda (Harrold) Holliman; beloved nieces, nephews, and his dog, Buddy, also survives.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Loudermilk will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. David Weaver and Rev. Dan Rosser officiating. Vocals will be provided by Mr. Ethan Thomas, and military honors with the flag presentation will be rendered by the United States Navy. Mr. Loudermilk will be inurned at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour of 3:00 p.m.
The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home and asks that no cemetery flowers be brought. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in memory of Mr. Billy Loudermilk.
