Mr. Billy Joe Weeks age 69 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Billy was born September 27, 1955 in Copperhill, TN to the late Bunion Weeks and Bonnie Woody. Billy was a prominent member of Gilmer County and was the owner of A1 Excavation for over 35 years. He was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ for 45 years and devoted many hours to help the widows/widowers of the community and those in need. Billy had a passion for the outdoors and loved gardening. Above all his passions was his devotion and love to his family; he was proud of their accomplishments and a proud pawpaw of 5 grandchildren. Billy loved the Lord and put the Lord above everything else. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his brother, Johnny Weeks and sister, Anne Pia.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife of 46 years, Teresa Martin Weeks, two daughters, Kourtney Weeks, of Ellijay and Sarah (Isaac) Bowers, of Ellijay; son, Nathan Weeks, of Sparta, GA; 5 grandchildren, Kensleigh Grace, Brylee Paige Weeks, Michael Bowers, Felix Bowers, and Sean Weeks, and two brothers, Frank Weeks and Bobby Weeks of Blue Ridge, GA.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday April 13th at 4:00 pm from the Ellijay Church of Christ with Minister Butch Jones and Minister Jeremy Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Martin, Josh Martin, Allen Martin, Mark Abercrombie, Barry Pritchett, and Mark Pettit. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Bowers, Felix Bowers, Sean Weeks, Buster Wilkinson, and Isaac Bowers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 12th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Food and Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mr. Billy Joe Weeks.
