Mrs. Bobbie Jean Davis age 76 of Ellijay died peacefully on February 1st, 2026, at her residence.

Bobbie was born at home in Jackson County on April 9th, 1949, to the late Leroy Gunnells and Allene Shannon Gunnells. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson GA. Where she played guard for the Basketball Team. Bobbie met who was to become her husband at the Varsity in Athens GA, Donald Gary Davis, they married January 17, 1966, and had recently celebrated their 59th anniversary. Bobbie attended Athens Tech and graduated with a certificate in accounting. She also attended the University of Georgia. Bobbie lived for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Family was everything to her. She enjoyed attending their events and supporting their dreams. She loved the mountains and enjoyed family trips to the beach. Bobbie was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, she attended and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ellijay.

She is preceded in death by her parents Allene and Leroy Gunnells, father-in-law and mother-in-law James Isacc and Mary Crawford Davis, sister Sherry Howington, son-in-law, Stan Akridge, brother-in-law James ''Jim'' Davis, brother-in-law Len Davis, sister-in-law, Fran Wells.

She is survived by her loving husband Donald Gary Davis, Daughters, Shannon Davis-Depew (John) Ellijay, Jamie Akridge Calhoun GA (Stan's Wife), Sisters Betty Mize (Richard) Homer GA, Carolyn Gunter (Jerry) Hoschton GA, Pam Davis McCaysville GA, Grandkids Alex Davis (Kellie) Greenville SC, Mary Emma Akridge Calhoun GA, Merrill ''Shep'' Akridge Calhoun GA, In-Laws, Boyce Davis (Sister-in-law) Athens GA, Mot Davis (Sister-in-law) Athens GA, Edmunds Wells (Brother-in-law) Lincolnton GA, numerous nieces and nephews.

Her wishes were to be cremated with no services at this time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
