Mrs. Bonita Norton Mashburn, age 81 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Friday, December 6th, 2024 at the Parkside Nursing Home in Ellijay, GA.

Mrs. Mashburn was born on March 15th, 1943 in Fannin County to the late Robert E. Norton and the late Hazel Verly Burnett Norton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mashburn is preceded in death by her son, Bobby Wooten, and four brothers, Harrison Norton, Hayden "Pudge" Norton, Bud Norton, and Bill Norton.

Bonita is survived by her loving husband, Gary R. Mashburn of Ellijay of 51 years; daughter and son-in-law, Anita (Anthony) Dale of Ellijay; brother, Kenny Norton of Blue Ridge; three sisters, Wanda (Richard) Maye of Lafayette, GA;  Hazel Martin of Blue Ridge, GA, and Teresa Norton of Blue Ridge, GA; six grandchildren, Amanda (Richard) Brown, Brandon (Jenna) Dale, Anthony Wooten, Cody (Brittany) Wooten, Shirley Wooten, and Kacey Tyler Dale, and nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Alex Brown, Kyra Ann Dale, Lauren Dale, Mia Rose Dale, Anthony Colter Dale, Lane Wooten, Wyatt Wooten, and Maisy Wooten, and others also survive.

Memorial Services to honor the life of Mrs. Mashburn will be held on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Minister Jerry Robertson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour of 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family respectfully asks that no food and flowers be brought to the funeral home.
