Carl David Baker

(June 4, 1928 - March 24, 2026)

Carl David Baker, 97 of Ellijay, passed away on March 24, 2026.

Carl was born on June 4, 1928, in Gilmer County to the late Turner and Cannie Weaver Baker. Carl spent his life in Ellijay, where he worked as a carpenter. He loved to piddle and work on projects. He always enjoyed gardening when he was a younger man. Carl never married and remained in the home of his parents, where he was able to help care for them in their later years. He was a friend to everyone he met. Carl loved his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Baker, Earl Baker, Robert Baker, and Mack Baker. Sisters, Lois Baker Chastain, and Lemma Baker Walker.

He is survived by his sister, Susan Gaddis, and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, also survive.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00am from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. With the Rev. Gerald Siniard officiating.

The family will not be receiving food or flowers.
