Mr. Carl E. Desmond, age 67, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Carl was born on November 3, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Rudy Desmond and Rachel Martin Desmond. He retired from the Whitfield County Road Department.

Carl was a member of the Ellijay Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he found great joy in serving others. He especially loved helping with the church's annual Vacation Bible School and serving in the children's ministry. To the children, he was lovingly known as “Uncle Carl,” a name and a memory that will forever remain in the hearts of the many young lives he touched.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Donna Arnold Desmond; sons and daughter-in-law, Brian (Janelle) Desmond and Roy Desmond; daughter and son-in-law, Olivia (Ryan) Desmond Davis; grandchildren, Brayden Desmond and Emily Desmond; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katheline (Steve) Desmond Petarra and Jennifer (Shad) Desmond Clore; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Willow Brook Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Carl and his family. Their kindness and dedication went above and beyond and will always be remembered.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
