Catherine Ann Easley went to sleep in Jesus on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana August 29, 1956 to Carl and Helen Easley. She was the 5th child in a loving family of 9 children. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, her brother, Darrell Easley, sisters, Linda Drake and Phyllis Matlock.

She is survived by her siblings Carol Barker, Debbie Chadwick, Doug Easley, Tony Easley, and Laura Easley, as well as her nieces/the children of her heart Stacy Harris and Sharon Jones. Other family survivors include 17 nieces and nephews, 33 plus great and great-great nieces and nephews plus hundreds of cousins who are all loved. She also claimed any baby or child within her sight. Cathy was available at a moment's notice to care for, raise, watch, cuddle, dangerously spoil or claim any available child or elderly person within her reach.

Cathy dedicated her life to caring for others in both her personal and professional life. She worked at the Gilmer County Nursing Home for 45 years with her work family caring for the vulnerable elderly of Gilmer county, so she knows everyone in the tri-state area. Because of this Cathy could never make a quick trip to Walmart. Cathy's true passion was babies and children. She sought opportunities to be involved with ANY Church youth activities (she actively volunteered at ANY church for VBS whether ask or not).

Cathy always kept a bag packed, ready to travel to any beach destination or to visit family. She enjoyed card games, board games, (but didn't care if she won or lost). Cathy loved sports, attending many local games but she really loved the Braves and Falcons. Cathy was always ready for any people activities or gathering. She was always the last one leaving any party.

Cathy hated vegetables, and healthy foods but loved Zaxby's and sweet tea! Cathy will be sorely missed by local retail stores and Zaxby's where she actively shopped for others and ate.

Cathy was loved by so many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

As Cathy would always say

"I'm fine, everything is fine."

Cathy always thought of others first and gave more than she received. The next face Cathy will see is her loving Savior and she will be reunited with her family.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 25th at 2:30 at the Ellijay Seventh Day Adventist Church with visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in honor of Cathy to the Ellijay Seventh-day Adventist Pathfinder Club, a Children's ministry youth group Cathy loved and worked with.
