Mrs. Celeste Yvonne Wallace DeVaney, age 65 of Cartersville, GA, formerly of Ellijay, passed away on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 at her residence.

Mrs. DeVaney was born on October 9th, 1959 in Compton, California to Andrew Gene Wallace and Aloha Jeanne Calahan Wallace. She was a kind-hearted lady with a deep love for both gardening and livestock, finding peace in tending to her plants. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, whom she adored. She earned an Associate's Degree of Science in Nursing from DeKalb College and a Bachelor's in Bible and Christian Ministries from Temple University. Her love for learning, nurturing, and family made her a cherished presence in every aspect of life. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Hale DeVaney.

Celeste is survived by her son, Shawn DeVaney of Atlanta, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole (Ryan) Cress of Dallas, GA and Laura (David) Elvin of Cartersville, GA; parents, Gene and Aloha Wallace of Conyers, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Greg (Ruth) Wallace of Dillwyn, Virginia; five grandchildren, Samantha Lousteau-Cress, Isla Elvin, Finnegan Elvin, Harrison Elvin, and Lochlan Elvin, and aunt and uncle, Ruth and Albert Walker also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mrs. DeVaney will be held on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Chaplin Adam Morris officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery in Ellijay, GA.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the Bernhardt Funeral Home located at 163 River Street, Ellijay, GA 30540.

The family will be accepting food and flowers in memory of Mrs. DeVaney.
