Mr. Charles E. Bandy of Smyrna, Georgia, passed away at home surrounded by family on April 27, 2023. He was born February 21, 1938, in Ducktown, TN.

Mr. Bandy moved with his family to Ellijay, GA, during his early childhood, where he attended elementary and junior high school, and graduated from Gilmer County High School.

Following his graduation from high school, Mr. Bandy moved to Atlanta, GA. He worked for Life of Georgia Insurance Company for several years before moving on begin what turned into a 30-year career with defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corporation, working at Lockheed's Marietta, GA plant.

Mr. Bandy served in both the U.S. Army Reserves (August 1955 - October 1956) and U.S. Air Force Reserves (October 1956 - August 1963), serving at Dobbins AFB, and received his Honorable Discharge in August 1963.

Mr. Bandy was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta. He enjoyed spending time in his wood-working shop, reading U.S. Civil War and World War II history, attending military air shows, traveling to Savannah, GA, and visiting Ellijay during apple season.

Mr. Bandy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Stitt Bandy, of Smyrna, GA; twin sons, John Bandy of Lilburn, GA, and James Bandy of East Stroudsburg, PA; grandsons Austin Smith of Johns Creek, GA, JohnMichael Bandy of Lexington, KY, and Parker Bandy of Vermillion, SD; granddaughters Jordan Bandy of Atlanta, GA, and Sophie Bandy of East Stroudsburg, PA; daughter-in-law Kate Sandy of East Stroudsburg, PA; sister Rosalene Clark of Ellijay, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
