Obituary

Mr. Charles Ray Slaughter, age 64 of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, May 20 th , 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Slaughter was born on July 21 st , 1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the James Slaughters and Gladys Slaughter. Mr. Slaughter worked for Pierce Poultry for 34 years in addition to working at Millwood Specialty Flooring. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Slaughter and sister, Brenda Hamrick.

Survivor's include: his wife, Juanita Slaughter; five daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Donny Bates, Tina White and Johnny Cantrell, Mitzi and Bill Darnell, Tonya and Randy Smith, and Julia Johnson and Linc Bowen; 14 grandchildren, Chris Alred, Sarah Alred, Kayla Alred, Chet Darnell, Bryson Darnell, Avery Darnell, Scott Crump, Haleigh Hoek, Joseph Crump, Brantley Jones, Abigail White, Ayden Cantrell, Logan Cantrell, Kaigen Mull Schyler Bowen; six great-grandchildren, Reid Whisnant, Dallas Crump, Jace Lingerfelt, Aiden Alred, Zayla Crump, and Braydon Darnell.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 24 th , 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Grizzle and Billy Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Kaigan Mull, Bill Carter, Joseph Crump, Scott Crump, Chris Alred, Linc Bowen, and Donny Bates.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 23 rd , 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Slaughter's family will be accepting food in flowers in his memory.

Bernhardt Funeral of Ellijay is in charge of the arrangements.
