Mrs. Edna "Colleen" Chastain Kowitz, age 82 of Woodstock, passed away on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Kowitz was born in Pickens County on April 26, 1939 to the late Grady D. Chastain and Pauline Steakley Chastain. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Kowitz; four brothers, Dallas, Clyde, Audley, and Jack Chastain, and three sisters, Maggie Gaddis, Imogene Hughes, and Montez Davis. Ms. Kowitz was retired from the National Library and was a member of Ball Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Tim Kowitz of Spring, TX; two daughters, Pam Scholtz of Acworth, GA, and Judy Kowitz of Woodstock, GA; one brother, Jerry Chastain of San Diego, CA ; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers include: Billy Kowitz Jr., Blaze Kowitz, Zach Bills, Alex Clemons, Terry Goddard, and Ricky Coggins.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 27th, 2021 at 2 PM in the Chapel of the Bernhardt Funeral Home with Chaplin Erin Tomlinson and Minister Jack Kyle to be officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday December 26 ^th from 4 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
