Mr. Danny Leamon Garland, age 68 of Ellijay, passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 at the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Mr. Garland was born on June 4th, 1956 in Ellijay, GA to the late Bud Garland and the late Mattie Garland. He was a lumber yard operator and owner of Garland Lumber here in Ellijay. Mr. Garland was a member of the Turniptown Baptist Church.

Danny is survived by his significant other, Lula Whittemore; two sons, Adam Garland and Chase (Hannah) Garland; five step-children, Maria Whittemore, Curt Compton, Michael Compton, Jeremy Compton, and Jason Compton; three grandchildren, Levi Garland, Boyie Garland, and Johnny Garland, and numerous step-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 5th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Arnold officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay, GA. The following gentlemen will be serving as Pall Bearers: Kyle Henson, Rowan Goble, Michael Compton, Jeremy Compton, Curtis Compton, and Marvin Whittemore.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5th, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Food and flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in c/o Bro. John Morrow at 5125 B Turniptown Road, Ellijay, GA 30536.
