Mr. Danny Howard Hensley, age 53 of Ellijay, passed away on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Hensley was born on March 9th, 1969 in Gilmer County, the son of Wilford Hensley and Alma Gene Shook Hensley. He was a member of the Ellijay Telephone Company (ETC) family for 33 years where his job duties consisted of being in charge of  ETC 3, dealing with channel providers, as well as engineering new construction. The truth is Danny had done and could do just about anything, and would do so with a smile on his face. He was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Hensley; father and mother, Wilford and Alma Gene Hensley; sons and daughter in laws, Jonathan and Becca Hensley, Jeremy and Melissa Hensley, and Kell Weaver; two daughters, Harley Weaver (fiance, Zayne Grenier), and Kadie Weaver; two grandchildren, Hunter and Callum Hensley; siblings; and numerous friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 11th, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. from the Ellijay Church of Christ with Minister Jeremy Green, Rev. Mitchell Pack, and Rev. Johnny Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow in the Stanley Creek Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Doug Harrison, Greg Cochran, Kenny Fendley, Johnny Scott, Dusty Arnold, and Tony Gant.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will accept flowers; however, they respectfully ask that no food be brought to the funeral home.
