Mr. Darrell Andrew ''Andy'' Key, 74 of Ellijay, passed away on Thursday, March 3 ^rd , 2022, at Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Mr. Key was born in Gilmer County on April 27, 1947, to the late Wayne Key and Vesta Starks Key. He was a retired Law Enforcement officer and later went to work for Piedmont Hospital as a security guard. Mr. Key was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of 56 years Sandra Kirby Key; one daughter, Cindy McClure (Anthony) of Ellijay; one sister, Yvonne Robertson of Ellijay, and one grandchild, U.S. Army Ranger, Jacob Levi Dickey (Taylor).

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday March 6, 2022, at 4 PM in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Banks and Rev. Alan Davenport. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the Gilmer County Sheriff's Honor Guard preforming the flag presentation.

Pallbearers include Edmond Dalrymple, James Aaron, Greg Griggs, Anthony McClure, Jacob Dickey, Eldridge Harper, Anthony Mullinax, and Kelly Towe. Honorary pallbearers include, Mark Sanford, Gary Harben, Bobby Long, Carol Daves, Earnest Watkins, Harold Robertson, Larry Callahan, and Mike Gobble.

The family will receive friends on Saturday March 5, 2022, from 4 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
