Mr. Wayne David "Boone" Holden, age 84 of Talking Rock, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024 at the Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Mr. Holden was born on November 15th, 1940 in Talking Rock, GA to the late Wayne Fagan Holden and the late Tinnie Lee (Bramlett) Holden. Boone was a graduate of Gilmer High School, Class of 1957, and went on to serve our nation in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Ellijay. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holden is preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" Holden, sister, Faye (Holden) Henson, and brother-in-law, Vinson Henson.

Boone is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Sullens) Holden of Talking Rock, GA; two daughters and son-in-law, Susan Nunn of Talking Rock, GA, and Cheryl (Steve) Collins of Talking Rock, GA; seven grandchildren, Phillip Collins, Lauren Nunn (Jesse) Herren, Thomas (Joni) Nunn, Dalton Collins, Chase (Kylie) Nunn, Jessie (Jimi) Darwin, and Taylor (Kimberly) Nunn, and fourteen great-grandchildren, Francis, Khiston, Zaida, Audrie, Hudson, August, Henry, Molly, Parker, Wyatt, Ellie, Ryleigh, Josie, and Logan also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mr. Holden will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Reece officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as Pall Bearers: Phillip Collins, Thomas Nunn, Dalton Collins, Chase Nunn, Taylor Nunn, Parker Collins, Steve Collins, and Jesse Herren. The following gentlemen will be serving as Honorary Pall Bearers: Tommy Totherow, Steve Totherow, David Totherow, Wally Stover, Wally Stover, Jr., Jim Dean, Jim Cagle, Scott Manous, Barry Henson, Gary Bramlett, and Keith Bramlett.

The family will receive on Friday, December 27th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Food will be accepted; however, the family respectfully asks that no flowers be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Mr. Ricky Bryan at 75 Horseshoe Circle Ellijay, GA 30540.
