Mrs. Debra Lee Khanna, age 65 of Ellijay, formerly of Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at her residence.

Debra was born on February 1st, 1959 in Marysville, Michigan to the late Alma Bonnie (Mcbee) Herman and the late Richard Herman. She obtained a masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida State University. Debra was very smart. She wrote her own book, The Scary Little Up North Cabin, which she won many scholastic awards on it. Debra was a member of the Sunlight Baptist Church in Ellijay. Mrs. Khanna is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include the love of her life, Roy Khanna of Ellijay; three step-sons, Peter (Michelle) Khanna of Florida, Roy Khanna, Jr. of Florida, and Chris Khanna of Florida; step-daughter, Julie Khanna of Florida; three brothers, Zach Herman of Michigan, Richard Herman, Jr. of Ohio, and Lyle Herman of Florida; one sister, Pamela Hill of Michigan; 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Kilborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include, John Rapson, Alex Cory, Eli Wishon, Richard Coy, and Big George.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home; however, flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Debra Khanna.
