Mr. Dennis Homer Petty, age 86 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, September 12 ^th , 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Petty was born on December 20 ^th , 1935 in Saginaw, MI to the late Rolland Petty and Sarah LaClair Petty. Mr. Petty was retired from the Gilmer County Road Department and proudly served our nation in the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Petty is preceded in death by his wife, Willa Dean Petty, and brother, Gerald Petty.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, David L. (Erika) Petty of Ellijay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana (Tony) Southern and Angela Petty both of Ellijay; two sisters, Carol Ward and Patricia Scnyder; 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17 ^th , 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Dottie Williams officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17 ^th , 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
