Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Parks Johnson, age 86 of Marietta, GA, passed away on Friday, September 25th, 2026.

Mrs. Johnson was born on December 30, 1939, in Ellijay, Georgia, to the late Coy Winslow Parks and the late Ruby Cantrell Parks. She was a member of Marietta First United Methodist Church and worked as an administrative specialist. Mrs. Johnson was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and cherished her family dearly. She lived with the assurance of her faith and was ready to go home to be with the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Angela Davenport, and her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Gary Beaver.

Dot is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Mr. Culver Johnson of Marietta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Alan (Kendra) Davenport of Ellijay, GA; two daughters and son-in-law, Anna Alford of Hiram, GA and Chris (Rusty) Watkins of Powder Springs, GA; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kaylee (Andrew) McClure, Kacey (Caleb) Marick, Wesley (Samantha) Silvers, Thomas Silvers, and Vivian Brauner, and ten great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services to honor the life of Mrs. Johnson will be held on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Jones and her son, Rev. Alan Davenport officiating. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Rev. Alan Davenport, Rusty Watkins, Kaleb Marick, Andrew McClure, Barry Mason, and Kevin Beaver.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the visitation, the family will proceed in a procession to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Johnson. The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
