Mr. Edmund "Ed" Richard Dalrymple, age 75 of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, June 21st, 2024 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA.

Mr. Dalrymple was born on February 20th, 1949 in Ellijay, GA to the late Clint Dalrymple and the late Ila Grant Dalrymple. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School's Class of 1967. Ed proudly served our nation in the United States Army and was a proud member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Parks Dalrymple; daughter, Sharon Anderson; sister, Sue (Ronnie) West; sisters in law, Alene (Gene) Wimpey, Barbara (Edgar) Land, and Grace Dalrymple; brother in law, Harold Reece; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Becca) Hensley, Jeremy (Melissa) Hensley, and Lexie Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Hensley and Callum Hensley, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 24th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Hope Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA with Rev. Alan Davenport and Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the United States Army performing Mr. Dalrymple's final military rites. The following gentlemen will be serving as pall bearers: Tim Starks, Steve Dalrymple, Jonathan Hensley, Jeremy Hensley, Brent Land, Russell Reece, David Reece and Eric Barclay. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: Harold Reece, Ronnie West, Larry Dalrymple, Gene Wimpey, Roger Kincaid, Charles Barclay, and Dennis Abercrombie.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Edgar Land @ 77 Bob Pinson Street, Ellijay, GA 30540. The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
