Mr. Charles Edward "Eddie" Stegall III, age 75 of Dalton, passed away on Monday, October 30th, 2023.

Mr. Stegall was born on May 11th, 1948 in Gilmer County to the late Charles Stegall and Mable Burrell Stegall. He was a graduate of the Gilmer High School Class of 1966 where he lettered in three different sports. This earned him the nickname, "Fast Eddie". Mr. Stegall graduated, with a bachelor's degree, from UGA and was a big Georgia Bulldog football fan. He was also an avid golfer. Mr. Stegall worked as a banker for over 30 years. He was an animal lover and loved his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stegall is preceded in death by his sister, Georgia May Giles; and nephew, Edward Stegall Giles.

Survivors include his two daughters, Stefanie Stegall of Atlanta and Amanda (Adam) Thornton of Dalton; four grandchildren, Blakely, Brenner, Bowen, and Breckyn Thornton; and niece, Malissa Palmer of Winder also survives.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:45 p.m.
