Mr. Emory "Pete" Gene Tipton, age 82 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.

Pete was born on November 3rd, 1941 in Gilmer County to the late Floyd Jackson Tipton and the late Zennie Walker Tipton. He was employed by Gilmer County as a maintenance man. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tipton is preceded in death by his wife, Fairis O. Guess Tipton; brothers, Ermel Tipton and Cotton Tipton, and sister, Evelyn Long.

Mr. Tipton is survived by his companion, Geraldine Kelley; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff (Regina) Tipton; brother, Estes Tipton; sister, Esther Garland; grandchildren, Brandy and Alan Hawkins and Haley and Isom McClure; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Heaven, Harmony, and Trevor, and special niece, Judy Cantrell also survive.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, July 7th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as Pall Bearers: Jeff Horn, Donny Weaver, Kaden Rodgers, Steve Tipton, Lamar Walker, Ronnie Long.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
