Evelyn (Evie) Ponton-Abernathy age 76 of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Friday Aug 2nd, 2024 at home in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Evie was born on Sept 12, 1947 in Manhattan, New York,  to the late Angel Ponton and the late Eugenia Montero Ponton. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cynthia Andrade, her brothers Angelo Ponton, Carlos Ponton and David Ponton.

She is survived in death by her husband, Clifford Abernathy; her daughter Annette Otero Rivera and her son-in-law Roberto Otero Rivera of Hiawassee, Georgia; and her son, Jeremiah Nathaniel Abernathy and her daughter-in-law Patricia Tennison Abernathy; sister Martha Louise Anglerau of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Maria Ponton Guarantiva of Davie, Florida; Elizabeth Ponton Simpon of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and 5 grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held Saturday August 10th at 2pm from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Blue Ridge, GA with Lewis VanTassel officiating.
