Ms. Velma Floy Clayton, age 83 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Friday, July 25th, 2025 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA.

Ms. Clayton was born on January 20th, 1942 in Ellijay, GA to the late Benjamin Chadwick and the late Florence Ann Forrester Chadwick. She was a loving mother and grandmother, in which she took this role very seriously. She loved flowers and all aspects of life. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Floy is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Billy Joe Clayton, and son, Zendell Clayton.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Velma Jo and Zeke Buffington; granddaughter, Haleigh Buffington; three great-grandchildren, Adleigh, Brantley, and Julieanna; brother, Lloyd Chadwick; sister, Margaret Dockery, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 1st, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends officiating.
