Obituary

Francis "Frank" Struzzieri, devoted family man and community leader of Blairsville, Georgia — a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather — passed away peacefully at the age of 99 at his home in Chatsworth, Georgia.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Frank served his country in the South Pacific during World War II. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career in broadcasting, beginning as a page at NBC in New York City and ascending to the position of program manager at the NBC affiliate in Miami, Florida.

Frank and his devoted wife of 60 years, Lorraine, created a lifetime of cherished memories together. They spent many fulfilling years in Hollywood, Florida, where they raised their four children before retiring to the serene beauty of Lake Nottely in Blairsville, Georgia, where many memorable summers were spent with his family. They built a wonderful home and became deeply involved in the community, working tirelessly with the chamber of commerce to enhance the city's beauty and charm. Their dedication was recognized with the honor of having a park named after them.

Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lorraine, as well as his parents, Joseph Anthony Struzzieri and Margaret Louise Ryan and his brother Andrew Struzzieri (Jane).

He is survived by his four children: Glenn Burns (Susan), Craig Struzzieri (Ana), Brian Struzzieri (Pam), and Rene Cooney (David); his cherished grandchildren: Kimberly Nielsen (Tim), Chris Burns (Lexi), Kevin Struzzieri (Kacy), Keith Struzzieri, Lauren Cooney (Steve), Cailin Heidelberg (Jeff), David Cooney, and John Cooney; his adored great-grandchildren: Lily Nielsen, Olivia Nielsen, Lucas Nielsen, Kieran Struzzieri, Sitota Struzzieri, Ava Burns, Auden Burns, and Charlotte Cooney-Werner; and step-great-grandson, Sky Nielsen,
His nephews, Michael A. Struzzieri (Lisa Julian), Joseph A.Struzzieri (Danette Struzzieri); Janie P. Struzzier, and Kelly R. Struzzier, and their families.
