Mr. Franklin Delano Holden, age 89 of Ellijay, passed away on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Holden was born on January 29th, 1934, in Ellijay, to the late Toy Holden and Candy Stover Holden. He retired as a dental technician and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church where he served as the church Clerk/Treasurer for over 40 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holden is preceded in death by his three brothers, Bobby, Johnny, and Morris Holden; two sisters, Kittrie (W.M.)Woody and Betty Jo Bates; brother-in-law, Grady Leon White; and niece, Lavonda Gravitt.

Survivors include his sister, Audrey White; nieces and nephews, Janet (Bob) Baker, Keith (Claudia) Woody, Rena Woody, Teresa Woody, Ronnie Holden, Toy (Lexie) Holden, Barry (Melissa) Holden, Kevan White, Heather (Rex) Davis, Kim Syfrett, Candy (Steve) Scoggins, and Jeff (Candace) Bates; 24 great-nieces-and-nephews; and 18 great-great-nieces-and-nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. John Reece and Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Music will be performed by Debbie Edmondson Brandenburg and the New Liberty Baptist Church choir. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Kevan White, Barry Holden, Toy Holden, Ronnie Holden, Keith Woody and Jeff Bates.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21st from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the New Liberty Baptist Church cemetery fund in memory of Mr. Franklin Holden. However, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
