CHAMPION

Mr. Freeman Champion age 81 of Ellijay, GA passed away Saturday August 10th, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Freeman was born June 19, 1943 in Gilmer County to the late Homer Champion and Elmina Reece champion. He was a cabinet maker and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Lynneita Waddell Champion, of Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons in-law, Jamie and Logan Parker, of Ashville, NC, Julie and Jason Thompson, Blue Ridge, GA; granddaughter, Marie Townson; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday August 13th, 2024 at 12 noon from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Townley officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Champion, Dennis Todd, Kirk Champion, Kelly Teal, Dennis Ralston and Gary Champion.

The family will receive friends Tuesday August 13th, 2024 from 10am until 12noon at the funeral home.

The family respectfully request no food be brought to the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery fund In Memory of Mr. Champion.
