Mr. Freeman Troy Lee Cantrell, age 82 of Ellijay, passed away on Wednesday, March 22 ^nd , 2023 at the Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. Cantrell was born on December 1 ^st , 1940 in Gilmer County to the late Alfred Western Cantrell and Bertha Carter Cantrell. He was retired from Parachem as a Lab Tech and a member of the River Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Cantrell was an avid gardener and loved his tomatoes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold Cantrell, Estes Cantrell, and Howard Cantrell, and two sisters, Inez Southern and Lois DeFoor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Lambert Cantrell of Ellijay; one daughter, Connie Alger of Athens; one brother, Lewis Cantrell of Ellijay; two sisters, Shirley Suddeth and Carolyn Teague both of Ellijay, and three grandchildren, Ellie Alger, Campbell Alger, and Nate Alger also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 24 ^th , 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Hood and Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the River Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include: Brian Lambert, Nate Alger, Troy Southern, Ernest Garland, Mike Lambert, Tim Garland and Marty Cantrell.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 24 ^th , 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the River Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Phillip Davenport Jr. at 2168 Macedonia Road, Ellijay, GA 30536.
