Mr. Gary Morgan Dean, age 72 of Ellijay, passed away on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Dean was born on December 10th, 1950 in Marietta, GA to the late Robert Lee Dean and Edna Mabry Dean. He was a loving son, husband, Dad, brother, and Grandpa. Mr. Dean worked as a heavy equipment operator. He loved porch sitting, fishing, watching football, and throwing horseshoes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dean is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Hendrix Dean; grandfather, Virgil Norris Mabry, and grandmother, Mamie Morgan Mabry.

Survivors include his two daughters, Shauna Marie Dean and Tammy Hayden – Neal; brother, Robert (Opal) Lanier Dean; one sister, Patricia Dean (David) Holland; nieces, Kimberle Harrison, Kelly Martin, and Joey Hunt, and one grandchild, Lillian "Lily" Grace Garfield also survive.

Mr. Dean will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 at 2 pm, located at the Boardtown Clubhouse. 7289 Boardtown Road-Ellijay, GA 30540. Food and drinks will be provided.
