Obituary

Mr. Gene Rodney Kinser, age 68 of Ooltewah, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29th, 2024 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Mr. Kinser was born on February 11th, 1955, in Ellijay, to the late James L. Kinser and Opal Watson Jordan. He was a hard worker and loved his family. Mr. Kinser retired from Universal Service Inc. and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Kinser; and sister, Connie Holbrooks.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Pridgen-Kinser of the home; son, Rodney Kinser of Lakeland, FL; brother, David (Hilda) Kinser of Jasper; sister, Kathi (Tommy) Freeman of Chattanooga, TN; brother-in-law, Carroll Holbrooks of Ellijay; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM from Clear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Holbrooks, Bro. David Kinser, and Bro. Brandon Powell officiating. Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Aaron Freeman, Keswick Freeman, Declan Freeman, Michael Freeman, Marcus Kinser, Kyle Hawley, Ryan Weaver, Ronnie Chester, Jamie Powell, and John McClure. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Millsap, Junior Davenport, and Phillip Davenport.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2nd from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mr. Gene Kinser; however, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
