Mr. George Hubert Edmondson, age 78 of Ellijay, passed away on Sunday, December 11 ^th , 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Edmondson was born on September 10 ^th , 1944 in Gilmer County to the late Arthur Edmondson and Georgia Carnes Edmondson. Mr. Edmondson proudly served our nation in the United States Army as a Parachute Rigger in Vietnam. He was a tractor trailer operator and logger for 40 years and was a member of the Covenant Community Church in Ellijay.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Edmondson is preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Hoke Rackley, Arthur Edmondson Jr, and Johnny Edmondson, and sister, Darris Turner.

Survivors include wife, Portia Anne Spivey Edmondson; brother, Donnie Edmondson; sisters and brother in laws, Geneva (David) Ray, Delane (Dennis) McGuire, Reba Slater, and Jane Dillard; children, Shonna (Bobby) Champion, David (Toni) Edmondson, Paula (Carl) Taylor, and Walter Edmondson; step children, Jennifer (Beau) McCollum, Debra (Bill) Drum, Thomas (Donna) Gamel, and Rebecca Heffner, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17 ^th , 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Covenant Community in Ellijay with Pastor, Rev. Steve Fields officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army.

Flowers will be accepted; however, the must be delivered to the Covenant Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Covenant Community Church at 191 Harold Pritchett Rd, Ellijay, GA 30540.
