Talking Rock, Georgia — Helen Elizabeth (Yarbrough, Wood) Reynolds, a woman of profound faith, vibrant creativity, and a legendary wit, passed away on March 26, 2026, at the age of 87. Known for her radiant, welcoming smile and a spirit that held no room for grudges, Helen lived a life defined by grace, forgiveness, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Born on October 14, 1938, in Lilburn, Georgia to Odell and Pauline Yarbrough, Helen was a wonderful woman who embodied selflessness and grace. Her life was a symphony of service, whether she was generously donating to her favorite charities or sharing her time and resources with friends and family.

A gifted artist, Helen saw beauty in the everyday. She was remarkably creative, finding a canvas in everything from traditional wood and fabric to the stones and wood shingles she transformed with her hand-painted designs. Her deep, lifelong love of music was equally central to her identity; in her earlier years, she shared this gift with her church community as a pianist, anchoring many services with her talent and devotion.

Helen was mostly at home in the warmth of fellowship, finding immense joy in her relationships within her church and her large, loving family. She never missed an opportunity to laugh or joke, and her witty sense of humor remained a hallmark of her personality until the end. She was a "nurturer" in the truest sense—a gentle soul who loved everyone she met and was, in turn, loved by all.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Reynolds; her sister, Diane McDonald; her children, daughter, Debra Gail Fisher and husband, Doug Fisher; son, Stan David Wood and wife Lora Jayne Wood; daughter, Glenda Anne Armstrong, and son, Roy Jerry Wood Jr; her grandchildren, Carmen Elizabeth White, Shane Lee Kelly, April Lynn Edmondson, Tiffany Wood McCannon, Kenneth Bruce Armstrong, Olivia Carol Duckworth, Alex Jonathen Wood, Jasmine Sharmaine Armstrong, Cory Jakob Persohn, , Terrance Quintin Armstrong, Chelsea Sierra Abbanam, Michael Anthony Bond, Jessi Jordan Wood-Button; and her many great-grandchildren, including Christian Matthew Davis, Gage Alexander LeBlanc, Jayden Trey White, Jesse Troy White, Sophia Bella Madison White, Wyatt Emerson Wood, Weston Jonathan Wood, Emberly Sage Persohn, Layna Mae Persohn, Archer Bond, Lennox Bond, and Owen Bond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Pauline Yarbrough, brother, Donald Yarbrough, sister-in-law, Donna Yarbrough, and brother-in-law, Louie McDonald.

A graveside celebration of Helen's life and her journey home will be held at the First Baptist Church in her hometown of Lilburn, Georgia. Service details will be announced at a later date as the family gathers to honor her vibrant legacy.

Having walked through the valley with grace and wit, Helen now dwells in the house of the Lord forever, where the music never ends and the colors never fade.
