Mrs. Helen Ruby Sutton Nelson, age 80 of Ellijay, passed away on Saturday January 29 ^th , 2022.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Murphy, N.C., on June 10 ^th , 1941 to the late Luther Sutton and Mattie Dockery Sutton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Nelson; daughter, Deborah Defoor. Mrs. Nelson was retired from Goldkist and was a member of Little Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her family, her friends, and life dearly. Mrs. Nelson enjoyed spending her time gardening and crocheting.

Survivors include her two sons, James Nelson (Alicia), and Robert Nelson (Kelly); one daughter, Barbara Rittenberry (Sanford); one sister, Mary Nell Kephart; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 1 ^st , 2022 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev(s). Roy Griggs and Mitchell Pack officiating. Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 31 ^st , 2022 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
