Howard Rogers CPCU, CIC, ARM

Howard, born 86 years ago, passed away August 29, 2026. He was raised in Keene, NH where he developed a passion for stock car racing and then into Formula Fords with the SCCA. He was in the Air Force ROTC, but did not pursue a career when he learned he would not be able to fly jets. He had his private pilot’s license. He attended the University of Miami and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Business Degree. He pursued a career in insurance and he and his wife owned an independent insurance agency in Palm Harbor, FL. He was an avid guitar player, enjoyed golf and pickleball and probably read every Louis L’amour book 10 times over. He retired to Ellijay in 2006, but wintered in Florida in an RV and from there spent a few months each year touring the United States and Canada in the RV.

He is survived by Suzi, his wife of 48 years, daughter, Suzanne Curry by a former marriage, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Howard was a member of the United Methodist Church in Blue Ridge.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay on October 1 at 11.00. Do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Howard’s memory are asked to give a donation to Tunnel to Towers Foundation Official Website.
