Mr. Hugh Michael Weaver, age 67 of Ellijay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 24th, with his family by his side.

Mr. Weaver was born June 8th, 1955 in Gilmer County to the late Crate and Lexie Weaver. He was a carpenter by trade, building many homes in and around Gilmer County. Hugh was a man of strong faith and a proud dad and grandpa, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a beloved father and grandfather and brother, and he will be forever missed.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brothers, Herbert Weaver and Hollis Weaver and a sister, Cathy Hyatt.

Survivors include his son, Joshua Weaver: Daughter and Son-in-law, Kassie and Adam Fowler; three grandchildren, Hailey Weaver, Kaden Fowler and Tallen Weaver; Sisters, Joyce Williams, Doris Rutledge, Dorothy Weaver and Judy Wright; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 26th, 2022, at 2:00 pm from Bernhardt Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Kelly Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Tickanetly Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Aaron Weaver, Matthew Weaver, Michael Hyatt, Zachary Wright, Joe Williams and Scott Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers include Adam Fowler, Doug Hyatt, Jacob Wright, Nick Rutledge, Jason Weaver and Tommy Williams.

Visitation will be Friday, August 26th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted but the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home in memory of Mr. Hugh Weaver.
