Mr. Jack Dean McArthur, age 85 of Talking Rock, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. McArthur was born on May 26, 1941, in Talking Rock, Georgia, to the late David Decature McArthur and the late Liller Montree Coffey McArthur. He was saved at a tent revival and faithfully carried his faith throughout his life. Mr. McArthur retired from Pilgrim's Pride after many years of service as a truck driver. He found great joy in gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly. Known for his kind and friendly nature, he could often be found sitting at the end of his driveway, waving to everyone who passed by, a simple gesture that brought smiles to many in his community.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McArthur is preceded in death by his step-son, Wesley Patterson, and numerous brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deana "Becky" (David Eric) Patterson of Ellijay, GA; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Eddie Patterson (Darlene Holtzclaw) of Ellijay, GA; three grandchildren, Randy (Brittany) Herrick, Eric Mosley, and Derrick Mosley; six great-grandchildren, and a special pet, Rex.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mr. McArthur will be held on Saturday, July 4th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 3rd, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 4th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will be accepting food and flowers in memory of Mr. Jack Dean McArthur.
