Mr. James "Quillion" Banks, age 90 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, at the Murray Woods Nursing Center.

Quillion Banks was born in Gilmer County on May 4, 1935, to the late Mose Banks and Ann Sanford Banks. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic. He was the oldest member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include brother, Steve (Mary Anne) Banks Cumming GA, Sister, Ann Bennett, Chatsworth GA, best friend and caregiver Lisa Cochran, caretaker Sonya Swing, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at 2:00 pm from the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Dotson and Rev. Eddie Kerr officiating. Music will be done by Harold Sanford. Internment will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Bailey, Ronnie Abercrombie, and Barron Abercrombie.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16th, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted, but donations can be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery fund in care of Harold Sanford @ 542 Ridgeview Trail Ellijay, GA 30536, in memory of Mr. Quillion Banks.
