Obituary

Mr. James Randall Bramlett, age 92, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 9th, 2023, at the residence of his daughter Cathy.

Mr. Bramlett was born in Ellijay to the late Robert "Bodie" Bramlett and his mother, Vergie Wright Ray. Randall obtained his GED and joined the Military at the age of 17. He served in the Army as an MP during the Korean conflict but spent, most of his time in Germany and Austria as an MP. Upon his return back to Ellijay from his service in the Army, he met his soon-to-be-wife Vera Lee Vick and they went on to have two children, Cathy Simmons-Taylor and Tammy Bramlett Blair., and were married for many years. During his lifetime he was primarily employed by the Marietta Bread Company, Georgia Marble Corp., and the Gilmer County School System, where he retired as a School Bus Driver.

He was a Deacon and a proud member of the Flat Creek Baptist Church. His greatest love in life was serving the Lord and spreading the word through song across the country, where he saw hundreds if not thousands of souls saved throughout his lifetime.

Randall is Survived by his daughter Cathy Simmons Taylor (Howard), his brothers, Carl Eugene Bramlett and Billy Bramlett (Penny), and grandsons: Mark Simmons (CiCi), Brad Simmons (Heather), Jacob Hicks (Leann), Mark Taylor (Jody) granddaughters Tracy Ausen, Tina Bright (Randall). great grandchildren: Jessie Wheeler, Jordon Wheeler, Aiden Umensetter, Zach Ausen, Lauren Taylor, Oliva Taylor, Evan Taylor, Alex Taylor, Jenny Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Vera Lee Bramlett; daughter, Tammy Bramlett Blair; brothers, Herbert Bramlett, Howard Bramlett, and Harold Bramlett; and sister, Minnel Gianguzzo.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, from 4 pm to 9 pm at the funeral home.

The body will lay in state at Flat Creek Baptist Church from 11 am to 1:45 pm On Wednesday, July 12, with Services beginning at 2:00.

Instead of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or the Coosawattee Shrine Club.
